Stampin’ Up! Hippest Hippos You Are The Best Card for the Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop

Welcome back to another Inkin’ Krew blog hop!  Our very talented team is doing a blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products.  This month we are all creating projects with a “celebrate summer” theme and I’m featuring the Hippest Hippos stamp set and coordinating Hippo Dies from the July-August Sale-a-bration Brochure for my project.

Stampin' Up! Hippest Hippos You Are The Best Card

My card design was inspired by As You See It Challenge #278.

I started by cutting a panel of Basic White card stock with one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  Then I embossed the die cut panel with the Into The Clouds Embossing Folder.  I lightly brushed Tahitian Tide ink over the embossed panel and then adhered it to the front of one of the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes.

I stamped the hippo images from the Hippest Hippos stamp set (Sale-a-bration item) in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then colored them with Light and Dark Gray Granite, Flirty Flamingo and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the hippos out with the coordinating Hippo Dies (Sale-a-bration item) and adhered then adhered them with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.  I cut panels of Silver Foil Specialty Pack, Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party and Flirty Flamingo card stocks with Hippo Dies and then adhered the die cuts with Mini Glue Dots and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hippest Hippos stamp set in Tahitian Tide ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then cut it out with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies.  I adhered the die cut sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals and then added Pearl Basic Jewels to the center of each flower to finish the card front.

Love that the Tea Boutique Cards & Envelopes come with envelopes that are already decorated to match the card bases!

  1. What can I say Amy – these hippos are just the cutest! I love the touches of pink which add a sweet but not overly girly touch to your fun card. Thanks for sharing with us over at As You See It this week!

  2. Dang, these are cute, Amy – love that you had a chance to play all three at once, lol. Those little pink cheeks are adorable! Thanks so much for playing at As You See It!

  3. Adorable hippos! They really seem to be enjoying summer. Lovely day here…if every summer day was this nice, I would enjoy summer too. Next week supposed to be HOT again!

    • We got some of the heat here today…not terrible, but warm enough for me not to want to be out. 🙂 Thanks Julie!

  4. Those hippos are so adorable and great for this challenge, Amy! I love how clear and well defined yours are! Thanks for using our sketch at As You See It Challenges!

  5. What an absolute cutie, Amy! The sketch was made for these adorable hippos. Your choice of accessories makes them even cuter. Thanks for joining us at As You See it, Amy. :-0
