Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Brilliance Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Butterfly Brilliance Birthday Card

Here is the theme that we’re all using this week:

My card design was loosely inspired by Global Design Project #GDP382.

I started by adhering a panel of Dandy Designs DSP ($100 level Sale-a-bration item) to the front of a Fresh Freesia card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I embossed a panel of Basic White card stock with the crosshatch embossing folder from the Basics 3D Embossing Folders (available March 1).  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Fresh Freesia card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the butterfly image from the Butterfly Brilliance stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a panel of Basic White card stock.  I colored three of the butterflies with Light and Dark Fresh Freesia and Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends Markers and then cut them out with the coordinating Brilliant Wings Dies.  I adhered two of the butterflies with Mini Glue Dots and one with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Something Fancy stamp set in Fresh Freesia ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then cut it out with the coordinating die from the Something Fancy Dies.  I cut a panel of Dandy Designs DSP with the same Something Fancy Die, adhered the two die cuts together with Stampin’ Seal and then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added five Fresh Freesia gems from the Opaque Adhesive-Backed Gems to finish the card front.

I adhered a strip of Dandy Designs DSP to a panel of Basic White card stock to finish the inside of the card.
