Stampin’ Up! Merry & Bright Christmas Lights Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Merry & Bright stamp set bundle from the upcoming September-December 2023 Mini Catalog to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Merry & Bright Christmas Lights Card

Here are the colors that we’re all using this week:

I started by embossing a panel of Basic White card stock with the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder (available September 6).  I adhered the embossed panel to a panel of Basic White card stock with Stampin’ Seal and then to the front of a Thick Basic White card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Christmas light images from the Merry & Bright photopolymer (available September 6) stamp set in Azure Afternoon, Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist, Blueberry Bushel and Bubble Bath inks on a panel of Basic White card stock.  Then I cut the images out with the coordinating die from the Merry & Bright Dies (available September 6).  I cut a panel of Gold Foil Sheets with the cap die from the Merry & Bright Dies and then adhered the die cuts together with Stampin’ Seal.

I adhered small pieces of Adhesive Sheets to the back of a panel of Gold Foil Sheets and then cut it with one of the Merry & Bright Dies and then “strung” the lightbulb die cuts along the die cut string.  I adhered the light string to the card front with the Adhesive Sheets.  I adhered the bulb die cuts with Mini Glue Dots to the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Merry & Bright stamp set in VersaMark ink on a panel of Basic White card stock, sprinkled the sentiment with gold embossing powders from the Metallics Embossing Powders and then heat embossed it.  I cut the sentiment out with the Stylish Shapes banner die and then adhered the die cut to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added five gold sequins from the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiments from the Merry & Bright stamp set in Pretty Peacock and Lemon Lime Twist inks and the lights in Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath, Blueberry Bushel and Crushed Curry inks on a panel of Basic White card stock to finish the inside of the card.
