Snowflake Soiree CAS Emboss Resist Card

Today I’m sharing a clean and simple (CAS) card that I made with the Snowflake Soiree stamp set from Stampin’ Up.  I’m working on getting my holiday cards finished up, nothing like waiting until the very last second!

Here is the list of products that you will need to make this card:

  • Snowflake Soiree (127922 wood, 127925 clear)
  • 1-3/4″ Circle Punch (119854)
  • 1-3/8″ Circle Punch (119860)
  • 1″ Circle Punch (119868)
  • VersaMark Pad (102283)
  • White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (109132)
  • Island Indigo Classic Ink Pad (126986)
  • Pool Party Classic Ink Pad (126982)
  • Island Indigo Card Stock (122923)
  • Pool Party Card Stock (122924)
  • Whisper White Card Stock (100730)
  • Stamping Sponges (101610)
  • Heat Tool (129053)
  • Rhinestone Basic Jewels (119246)

I started with a card base of Island Indigo, then I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel from Pool Party Card Stock.  I stamped the small snowflake and the sentiment from the Snowflake Soiree set in Island Indigo ink on the Pool Party panel.  Next I cut a panel of Whisper White Card Stock to 2-7/8″ x 3-3/4″ and I stamped the snowflake images in VersaMark ink.  Then I sprinkled them with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed the images.  I cut a piece of scrap paper that was just a bit larger then then embossed panel and I punched various size circles out so that they would highlight the snowflakes that I stamped and embossed.  Then I added a tiny bit of removable adhesive to the back of the punched circle scrap paper to help hold it in place and I sponged Pool Party and Island Indigo ink over the punched out circles.

Then I cut a piece of Island Indigo Card Stock to 3″ x 3-7/8″ and I layered it behind the sponged and embossed panel and adhered the snowflake images at an angle across the card front.  To finish the card, I added some rhinestones to the centers of the embossed snowflakes and on the upper left side.  For the tutorial, click here.

This technique is so much fun and it can make a simple card look fantastic!  Plus, you can use it with almost any stamp set.  I hope that you’ll give it a try.  And stop back tomorrow, I’ve got another new stamp set sneak peek!
