I started with a card base of Tangerine Tango cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. Then I cut a panel of Sahara Sand card stock to 4″ x 5-1/4″ and I stamped the stem image from the Madison Avenue stamp set on the panel in Sahara Sand ink using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. I wrapped a piece of the Tangerine Tango ribbon from the Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack around the panel and adhered it with SNAIL. Next, I stamped the flower image from the Madison Avenue stamp set and the sentiment from the Friendly Phrases on White Vellum in VersaMark ink. I sprinkled the images with Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Emboss Powder and I heat embossed them. Then I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the flower center in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. I cut the Vellum pieces to 1-1/4″ x 1-3/4″ and I cut two panels of the Sycamore Street DSP to 1-1/2″ x 1-7/8″ and I adhered the Vellum to the DSP with SNAIL. Next, I cut two pieces of Tangerine Tango card stock to 1-3/4″ x 2-1/8″ and I adhered them to the back of the layered Vellum pieces with SNAIL. I used my Paper-Piercing Tool and I pierced three holes in the layered Vellum sentiment piece and I placed 3 of the Designer Printed Brads in the holes. Then I attached the two layered pieces to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card, I stamped the flower image in Tangerine Tango ink and cut it out with the Floral Frames Framelits Die. I sponged the edges with Sahara Sand ink, placed a Designer Printed Brad through the center and adhered it to the panel with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I adhered the decorated panel to the card base with SNAIL.
I like the look of the stems on the Sycamore Street DSP but I wanted something a little more muted for the background of my card so I created my own version using the Stamp-a-ma-jig and Sahara Sand ink. And I discovered that the smallest of the Floral Frames Framelit Dies fits the flower from the Madison Avenue stamp set perfectly, always love it when I find a new way to use something that I’ve already got.
A quick tip for the Stamp-a-ma-jig and wood mounted stamp sets: Cut a square of Vellum before you use your Stamp-a-ma-jig and a wood mounted stamp set and use the square of Vellum in place of the plastic layer that comes with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Stamp the images in StazOn ink on the Vellum and use the Vellum for placement rather then the plastic. When you’re done using the set for that project, then tuck your piece of Vellum in the stamp case and you’ve got it all ready for use next time. Then you won’t have to spend time re-stamping your image on the plastic each time!
