Triple Time Stamping with Papillon Potpourri

Today I’m sharing a card that I created using the triple time stamping technique.  It’s a really simple technique with a neat result.  If you’re not familiar with how to do this, you can view a quick YouTube tutorial on how to do the technique by clicking here.

My card design was inspired by The Paper Players Summer Holiday and the Dynamic Duos #55 Raspberry Ripple & Wisteria Wonder Challenges.

Papillon Potpourri

I started by cutting my Whisper White panels and adhering them together (with no layers between) with just a touch of SNAIL in the center.  I stamped the butterfly images from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in VersaMark ink over all three layers at once.  Then I carefully pulled the layers apart and sprinkled each individually with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed them.  Then I used my Stampin’ Write Marker and I colored each of the butterflies.

One quick tip when you use markers with heat embossed images:  After you’ve finished coloring the heat embossed image, make sure that you blot it with a clean paper towel to dry the ink that gets on the embossed part of the image.  If you don’t blot the ink, it will smudge (ask me how I know).  😉  If you don’t want to have to worry about the smudges, simply use StazOn Jet Black to stamp your images.

Then I adhered the stamped layers to the Wisteria Wonder and Raspberry Ripple card stock, then to one another with SNAIL.  I wrapped a piece of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin Ribbon around the layered panel and adhered it with SNAIL, then adhered the layers to the Wisteria Wonder card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  To finish the card front I stamping the image from the Label Love stamp set in Raspberry Ripple ink on Whisper White card stock, punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Then I colored the image from the A Round Array stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers, stamped it on Whisper White card stock, punched it out with the 7/8″ Scallop Circle Punch and adhered it with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I added a quick butterfly to the inside of the card to finish it.
