Stampin’ Up!’s Annual Demonstrator Convention is starting tomorrow and many of the Demonstrators are leaving today.  Since I’m missing out on the convention (silly move across the country won out over my trip to Salt Lake City!!), rather than pouting about it I thought I’d offer you all a Wish I Were At Convention Ordering Special!!  Check out the details at the bottom of my posting today.

I used the new Halloween Happiness stamp from the Stampin’ Up! 2013 Holiday Catalog for my card share today.  I’ve been having all sorts-of fun playing with the fall stamps and papers!  I also used a piece of the Modern Medley DSP for the background on this card.  Don’t forget about the Buy 3 DSP Get 1 Free Promotion from Stampin’ Up! that is going on now through July 31.  Click here or on my Promotion tab above to read more about it.

My card design was inspired by the Sketch Frenzy Friday SFF070513 and the CAS-ual Fridays CFC 109 Polka Dots Challenges.

I started by coloring the Vanilla Polka Dots on a panel of the Modern Medley DSP with my Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Write Marker.  Then I adhered the colored panel to a panel of Tangerine Tango card stock with SNAIL, then to a Basic Black card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the Halloween Happiness image on a Basic Black panel in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Tangerine Tango Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Tangerine Tango card stock with SNAIL.  Then I adhered the layered panel to a die cut chalkboard label (from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit) with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then to the card front with SNAIL.

Here is a quick tutorial for how I made the little DSP bow:

I started by adding a little Sticky Strip to the center of a 1/2″ x 4″ strip of DSP belly band (from the Thankful Tablescape Simply Created Kit) and I rolled one end of the DSP around a Stampin’ Write Marker, adhering the end to the Sticky Strip.  **Note, I had to remove the cap to slide my marker out of the loop.

Then I repeated that process with the other side of the DSP Strip.

Then I made a little mark on the DSP at approximately the middle of the loop on both sides and I used my 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch a small notch.

I repeated the punch process on the top half of the DSP strip.  Then I cut a 1/4″ x 1″ strip from the same DSP and I wrapped it around the center, securing it to the back of the bow with Sticky Strip.  Then I adhered the bow to a Hardware Clips Essentials paper clip with a Glue Dot.  I slid the clip over the upper right corner of the sentiment to finish the card front.

I added a panel of Tangerine Tango card stock that I’d stamped with the pumpkin image using StazOn Jet Black ink inside the card.  **Note, when you’re inking up only part of a stamp with an ink pad, put a Post-It Note over the part that you don’t want inked, leave the stamp facing up on your table and ink up the image as you normally would, then remove the Post-It Note and stamp your image.
