I need a few anniversary cards this month so I pulled out the new Expressions Thinlits Dies and the Hearts a Flutter stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create a card.  My card design was inspired by the Retrosketches #73.

I started by cutting a heart from a panel of Soft Suede Core’dinations card stock using the Hearts Collection Framelits die.  Next, I embossed panel with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder, then sanding the raised areas and adhered it with SNAIL to a panel of Bermuda Bay card stock with the center cut out.  Then I punched a Modern Label Punch from Basic Gray card stock, cut it in half and adhered the punched pieces to the edge of the Soft Suede panel with SNAIL and added a Bermuda Bay Candy Dot to the punches.  I adhered the layered panel to a Blushing Bride card base with SNAIL

I stamped the scalloped heart from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set in Blushing Bride ink on the card base in the center of the die cut.  Then I stamped the sentiment from the Express Yourself Hostess stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink on a Whisper White strip and I adhered it to a Bermuda Bay strip, then to the card front with SNAIL.  Next, I cut the “love” sentiment using the Expressions Thinlits Die (don’t forget to put a piece of wax paper between your card stock and die, then use your Paper-Piercing Tool to help remove the die cut) from Bermuda Bay card stock and I adhered it with a 2-Way Glue Pen to the card front.  I punched a 1-1/4″ scallop circle from Bermuda Bay card stock and I adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  I punched a 1″ circle from Soft Suede Core’dinations card stock, sanded the edges and adhered it to the scallop circle with SNAIL.  I finished the card front by stamping the heart from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set in Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay ink on a Whisper White panel, cutting it out with the Hearts a Flutter Framelits die, adhering it with Stampin’ Dimensionals over the layered circles, then adhereing a Whisper White button with a Glue Dot that I’d tied a piece of Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon through.

I kept the inside of the card fairly simple by stamping two hearts in Blushing Bride and Bermuda Bay ink on a Whisper White panel.
