Geometrical and Language of Love Valentines – Stampin’ Up!

I must confess, I started out planning to post a single layer Valentine for The Paper Players challenge this week and somehow my single layer card using the Geometrical stamp set morphed into a three layer card!  So I went back to the drawing board and created a single layer card with the Language of Love stamp set.  I thought that I’d share them both with you today since they were both fairly quick to make.

Geometrical Language of Love - Stamp With Amy K

The colors for both of my cards were inspired by the Dynamic Duos #86 and the single layer card design was inspired by The Paper Players #179.

Language of Love 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I’ll start with the one-layer Valentine.  I stamped the heart image from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Pink Pirouette ink on a Naturals White card base.

Then I stamped the large heart image from the Language of Love stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink, sprinkled it with Pool Party Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I punched a sticky note with the Full Heart Punch to create a mask, then sponged Pink Pirouette ink over the embossed heart.

Language of Love 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack along with my Paper-Piercing Tool and Stampin’ Pierce Mat to create the pierced heart around the sponged image.  Then I colored the sentiment from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) with my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (leaving off the little heart) and stamped it next to the pierced heart to finish the card front.

Language of Love 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the little heart border from the Language of Love stamp set in Pink Pirouette ink on the inside of the card, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement.

Geometrical - Stamp With Amy K

This card took a little more time simply because I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up each of the triangle images, but it was still fairly quick to create.  I started by pulling out my Stamp-a-ma-jig and Geometrical stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) and stamping one of each of the three triangle images in a corner of the imaging sheet.

Geometrical 4 - Stamp With Amy K

Then I drew a light pencil line across the card to use as a guide to start stamping with the help of my Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement and I stamped the triangle images across the card in Pink Pirouette ink.  Then I added a rows of Pool Party and Pink Pirouette triangles until the corner was completely filled in.

Geometrical 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I erased my pencil line and used the Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack again to pierce a straight line across the top row of triangles.  Then I stamped the sentiment in VersaMark ink, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Geometrical 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the heart image from the Perfect Pennants stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in Pink Pirouette ink next to the sentiment, then inked up the arrow from the Geometrical stamp set with Pool Party ink on both ends (leaving the center uninked) and stamped it over the heart.  I adhered the stamped panel to a Pool Party panel with SNAIL, then to a Pink Pirouette card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Geometrical 5 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the heart and arrow images again on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

  1. Both cards are great, Amy! I love the patterns you created with your triangle stamp, and the piercing and embossing add so much to the one layer card. Thanks so much for playing along with my challenge this week at The Paper Players!

  2. Great cards. I think the card with all the triangles looks really fiddly to make even with the stamp-a-jig but the outcome is definitely worth it. The idea of piercing around the heart on the other card is fun.

  3. Both are darling cards, Amy! Such clever stamping of the triangles and I love all the faux layers you created with stamping, masking and embossing on the OLC. Great use of the challenge! Thank you for joining us at The Paper Players!
