World Map Starburst Sayings – Stampin’ Up!

I made a card with the World Map and Starburst Sayings stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! to share with you today.  My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #130 and the colors were inspired by Dynamic Duos #97.

I actually used a My Digital Studio download of the World Map stamp to create the images since I don’t have the actual stamp, so I printed out the image twice, once on Whisper White card stock and once on Tempting Turquoise card stock.  However, you could recreate this by using StazOn Jet Black Ink and the World Map stamp (wood mount and clear mount).  I adhered the Whisper White image to a Melon Mambo panel with SNAIL.

I trimmed 7/8″ off three sides of the image printed on the Tempting Turquoise panel and adhered it with SNAIL to a Melon Mambo card stock panel.  Then I adhered the layered panel to the Whisper White panel with SNAIL.  I adhered the panels to a Tempting Turquoise card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Starburst Sayings 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Starburst Sayings stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a Whisper White panel, sprinkled it with Melon Mambo Stampin’ Emboss Powder, heat embossed it and cut it out with the matching Starburst Framelits die.  I stamped the sentiment a second time in VersaMark Ink on a Whisper White panel, sprinkled it with Tempting Turquoise Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I cut the WORLD banner out with my paper snips and adhered it to the sentiment die cut with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

You can purchase the Starburst Sayings stamp set and matching Starburst Framelits in a bundle and save 15% (wood mount and clear mount).

I tied a piece of Silver Baker’s Twine around a small piece of Natural 5/8″ Chevron Ribbon, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.  I adhered the sentiment die cut over the ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to complete the card front.

I adhered two strips of the leftover Tempting Turquoise card stock print out to a Whisper White card stock panel on the inside of the card.

  1. What a nice card. I think it would be fun to place something like a map insert on the base map and feature a close up of a famous city, such as Paris… what inspiration! Your card has me thinking!

    • Thanks so much Melanie!! I’ve used actual road maps (the kind that you can buy in the grocery store) for cards before, they make great backgrounds! Have fun creating. 🙂

  2. What a versatile card. It is a simple design, but so very striking and clever, pairing the map with the sentiment. Have a great day, Amy!

  3. I like the colors you used, they really draw the eye into to card. I love the World stamp too and haven’t gotten it yet. The MDS version could tide me over, great idea!

    • Thanks so much Jill! The other bonus to the MDS version is that it automatically prints out straight for trimming purposes…I can’t stamp straight for anything!! 🙂

  4. I love how you “highlighted” a portion of the map! That looks so great! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches!

  5. Amy, super, super card. I just love how graphic and bright it is with the FMS sketch. Thanks for sharing how you created it. What a great addition to the Dynamic Duos this week!

  6. Wow! I love that you created the paper digitally…especially love the sentiment! Such a fun card! Thanks for sharing it with us at the DD!
