Lovely As A Tree Thank You – Stampin’ Up!

I pulled out one of my all-time favorite stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! called Lovely As a Tree to create my card for the Stamping and Blogging SB51 Sketch Challenge.  I’ve been seeing a lot of the emboss resist technique on cards lately (a technique that is so much fun!) and I wondered what it would look like with different shades of brown.  This is the result…I think it’s pretty cool!  Hope that you do too.  🙂

I played around the Clear Stampin’ Embossing Powder and the different shades of brown card stock.  I started with Soft Suede, but when I embossed the image, the color was so dark that it didn’t show up very well after adding the Early Espresso ink.  Then I tried Crumb Cake card stock and I was happy with that result.  I thought it looked just like the Soft Suede card stock that I was going to layer it over, so that is what I used for the image on my card.

I stamped the image from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a Crumb Cake card stock panel and heat embossed it with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  For the moon image, I used a leftover circle from the center of one of the Daydream Medallions stamps (wood mount and clear mount).  That set has some fantastic circles so don’t throw them out!   Then I inked up my Brayer with Early Espresso ink and I rolled it over the image (re-inking and re-rolling several times).  Once I had the background color that I wanted, I wiped the excess Early Espresso ink off the embossed image with a cloth.

Four You - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Four You stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a Soft Suede card stock panel, using my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement, sprinkled it with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Then I used the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder to emboss a little border just above the sentiment.  I simply turned the embossing folder sideways, lined it up and ran it through my Big Shot that way.  Then I adhered the panel with the Lovely As a Tree image on it to the Soft Suede panel and added a layer of Early Espresso Card stock under both layers, using SNAIL to adhere everything together.

I wrapped a strand of Bermuda Bay Baker’s Twine from the Tag a Bag Accessory Kit around the panel, then adhered it to a Bermuda Bay card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I cut a strip of Soft Suede DSP (from the Neutrals DSP Stacks) and a strip of Kaleidoscope DSP, punched both ends with the Hexagon Punch, then colored the white polka dots on the Kaleidoscope DSP with my Soft Suede Stampin’ Write Marker.  I adhered the banners to the card front with SNAIL, then added a Bermuda Bay (from the Brights Candy Dots pack), Soft Suede and Early Espresso (both from the Neutrals Candy Dots pack) Candy Dot to the lower right corner of the card front to complete it.

I stamped the leaf images from the Lovely As a Tree stamp set in Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks on a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.
