I created a card to share today using the Peaceful Petals stamp set from Stampin’ Up! My card design was inspired by the My Favorite Things #171 sketch and the colors were inspired by the Dynamic Duos #98.
I started this card by adhering a panel of Wisteria Wonder DSP from the Subtles DSP Stacks to a panel of Whisper White, then to a Wisteria Wonder card base with SNAIL. Then I adhered a panel of So Saffron DSP, also from the Subtles DSP Stacks to a Whisper White panel, then to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the flower image from the Peaceful Petals stamp set (wood mount and clear mount) in VersaMark Ink on a Watercolor Paper panel, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. Then I used my Aqua Painter, Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron inks and I painted the flower image. I let it dry completely, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.
I cut another panel of Watercolor Paper slightly larger than the flower panel and I painted the entire panel with just water, using my Aqua Painter. Once I had the panel wet, I dropped two drops of Wisteria Wonder Ink Refill on the panel and spread it around with my Aqua Painter. I spread the ink drops over the entire panel, turning the panel several times as I worked the ink around so that it had some areas of lighter and some areas of darker coverage. I let the panel dry completely, then cut a circle from the center using one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and I adhered the panel to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For the sentiment circles, I colored the flower image from the Peaceful Petals stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on a panel of Watercolor Paper. Then I stamped the sentiment on the panel in VersaMark Ink, sprinkled it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. I punched the sentiment out with the 1-1/4″ Circle Punch and layered it over a 1-3/8″ Circle Punch from Watercolor Paper that I’d painted with So Saffron ink. Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front with SNAIL and I added three sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim (using Multipurpose Liquid Glue) and six Pearl Basic Jewels to complete the card front.
I colored the flower image from the Peaceful Petals stamp set with my Stampin’ Write Markers again and I stamped it on a panel of Whisper White to finish the inside of the card.

Amy this is stunning! Thanks for sharing with DD this week! Happy Stamping! 🙂
Thanks so much, I appreciate your comments!
Love the way you made the watercolor background with your Aqua Painter and ink refill. I was wondering what dsp paper you used and was surprised to see your technique, this is perfect for when you don’t have that color dsp. Sometimes we have to have “ah ha” moment to help us to think of alternatives 🙂 Thanks for my “ah ha” moment Amy!
You are very welcome! It was a super easy background to create too. Thanks for your comments, I do appreciate them. 🙂
AmyK- this is fantastic- the clean and crisp design and the watercoloring is fabulous. Thanks for sharing how you made the card. So glad you played along with the Dynamic Duos this week!
Thanks so much! Great colors to play along with this week too. 🙂
