Work of Art with Papillon Potpourri & New Weekly Deals from Stampin’ Up!

I had to pull out my new Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers from Stampin’ Up! to play a little more today.  The stamp sets featured on this card are Work of Art and Papillon Potpourri and my card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #75 and by the CAS-ual Fridays CFC131.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Work of Art stamp set (available June 2) in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink (available June 2) on a Whisper White panel.  I adhered the stamped panel to a Basic Black card stock panel with SNAIL, then to a Daffodil Delight card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Work of Art 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut a banner from Basic Black card stock using one of the Banners Framelits Dies.  I used the same die to cut a banner from Whisper White card stock and I stamped the paint splash from the Work of Art stamp set in Daffodil Delight ink across the banner.  I trimmed that banner just a tiny bit on the right and left side of the Whisper White banner and adhered it with SNAIL to the Basic Black banner.  I trimmed about 3/4″ off the top of the layered banner, then adhered it to the card front with SNAIL.

Papillon Potpourri - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the butterfly image from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, then started coloring it with my Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.  I started with the darkest shade and went to the lightest shade.  Then I used the Color Lifter to remove some of the Pumpkin Pie ink along the edges of the wings and on the body and I colored over those areas with the medium Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabities Marker.  I loved that I could blend the two colors together!

I punched the butterfly out with the Elegant Butterfly Punch and adhered it to the card front with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Work of Art 3 - Stamp With Amy KI finished the card front by coloring Rhinestone Basic Jewels (my group of three on 1/3 of the card) with my darkest Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers and a black Sharpie marker, then adhering them next to the sentiment.

And just because I’d had so much fun coloring the butterfly for the card front, I stamped the butterflies from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set again in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on a Whisper White card stock panel and I colored them with my Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers.

  1. Your awesome descriptions of how you create your cards inspire me 😉 The banner tip is such a time and patience saver. Also I appreciate the way you detailed the coloring of the butterfly. I can’t wait to try out your tips with the color blending 🙂 Thanks Amy!

  2. Love the way you’ve ‘grounded’ the butterfly with the watercolour stripe. This is a beautifully CAS card! So glad you joined us at CAS-ual Fridays!
