I used the hostess stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called Hello Love to create a birthday card to share today.
My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #144.
I started by adhering a panel of Lullaby DSP to a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock with SNAIL, then to a Hello Honey card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the bird image and sentiments from the Hello Love hostess stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and I colored the little bird with my Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. I colored the entire bird with the Light Marker, then went back and added a little Dark and Medium shading on the abdomen and tail. Then I colored the cloud image from the Hello Love stamp set with my Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker and stamped it in the upper right corner. I did use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to help with placement of all of these images.
I layered the stamped panel over a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock, then adhered the panel to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the sun image from the Hello Love stamp set in Hello Honey ink on a panel of Hello Honey card stock and I cut it out with my Paper Snips. Then I stamped the image again in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel. I punched the center of the image from the Whisper White panel with my 1″ Circle Punch and I colored it with my Daffodil Delight Blendabilities Markers. I used the color lifter to create a little highlight on one side, then adhered the colored circle to the stamped image that I’d hand cut. I adhered the layered image to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the other bird from the Hello Love stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a Whisper White panel and I colored it with my Light Calypso Coral and Light Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers. Then I stamped the stem image from the Flower Patch stamp set (see below how I did that) in Pistachio Pudding Ink under the bird image. I cut it out with the Banners Framelits Die and trimmed just a bit off the sides and top, then adhered it with SNAIL to a Banners Framelits die cut (using the same die) from Coastal Cabana card stock.
One of the cool things about photopolymer stamp sets is that the images are a little bit flexible. So I slightly bent the stem image when I adhered it to my block.
I finished the card front by adhering the layered banner to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then tying a bow from Coastal Cabana Thick Baker’s Twine to a Basics Hodgepodge Clip and clipping it over the edge of the banner.
I adhered a strip of Hello Honey card stock and a strip of Lullaby DSP to a Whisper White panel to complete the inside of the card.
