When I first looked through the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog, I wasn’t going to get the Cheerful Critters stamp set. But the more that I saw it, the more that I loved these goofy little critters holding up their signs! This set arrived in one of my (many!!) recent orders and I’ve been waiting for the perfect sketch to use it…I think that I found just that sketch today!
My card design was inspired by Pals Paper Arts #237.
I started by adhering a panel from the Best Year Ever DSP pack (Sale-A-Bration item) to a panel of Whisper White card stock with SNAIL.
Then I adhered a smaller panel from the Best Year Ever DSP pack with SNAIL over the layered panel and I added a strand of the Coastal Cabana ribbon from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (Sale-A-Bration Item) to cover the seam. I adhered the DSP panel to a Coastal Cabana card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the two images and sentiments from the Cheerful Critters photopolymer stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, then colored them with my Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Markers (Sale-A-Bration items, also available in the Annual Catalog).
I used my Paper Snips to cut the two critters out and I adhered the bird image with SNAIL and the bunny image with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front. I added two of the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers next to the sentiments to finish the card front.
I colored the sentiment from the Simply Wonderful stamp set (Sale-A-Bration item) with my Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Marker and I stamped it on a panel of Whipser White, then added a strip of Best Year Ever DSP to the inside of the card.

Too funny, Amy we are two peas in a pod! I originally passed over this set too. It’s funny how they hold up the signs, it makes me smile (reminds me of John Cusack with the boombox in Say Anything). Great job fussy cutting them! The colors that you choose really stand out and make these little critters pop off your card too 🙂 You created a great card here and you know now these guys are going to be on my next order too 😉
