Stampin’ Up! Moon Lake Watercolor Card

I used the new Moon Lake stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.  It’s perfect for watercoloring!

As you probably know, I’ll be out at the Heirloom Productions Rubber Stamp & Paper Arts Festival all day today so I might be a little slower than I usually am at answering messages.  I will get back to you, just know that it will probably be later in the evening before I’ve got time to answer emails.  🙂  If you aren’t able to make it to the show, I’ve got a few peeks at our display boards on my Facebook page so head over there to check it out!

Moon Lake - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches #171 (I cheated a little on the banners…I let the DSP do the work on those!!).

Screen Shot 2015-01-30 at 3.33.17 PMMy card design was also inspired by CAS-ual Fridays CFC136.

Screen Shot 2015-01-30 at 3.34.58 PM

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Moon Lake stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel from the Adventure Bound DSP Stack, then  I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL.

Moon Lake 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the layered panel to a Mossy Meadow card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then stamped the image from the Moon Lake stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of Watercolor Paper.  I sprinkled the image with Early Espresso Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.

Moon Lake 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I used my Aqua Painter and my Soft Sky, Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow and Smoky Slate ink pads to watercolor the embossed image.  I let the image dry completely, then cut it out with one of the Circles Collection Framelits Dies.

Moon Lake 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered the watercolored die cut with Fast Fuse Adhesive to a circle that I’d cut from Early Espresso card stock with the next size up Circles Collection Framelits Die.  Then I adhered the layered circles to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Adventure Bound DSP - Stamp With Amy K

I adhered a strip of the leftover Adventure Bound DSP to a panel of Naturals White card stock inside the card.

  1. Wow, Amy! The stamp set (with the gorgeous coloring!) looks so wonderful with that new DSP. Great card! Thanks for sharing with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  2. Love this card, Amy!
Have a great day today – wish I could be with y’all. Couple of my favorite people going to be there with you.

  3. This was one of the first stamp sets on my wish list, but when I didn’t see it getting used, I crossed it off. This is the first time I see a card using the set, and you’ve done it such justice, Amy! Beautiful dp to border the 2 sides and nice water coloring! A beautiful serene scene! Love it~

  4. Your water coloring is absolutely awesome! It was a set that took me a bit to get used to, but now I really can’t wait to add it to my order 🙂 Your card is fantastic and perfect for the dsp you used. Can’t wait to get it and test it out at home. Great idea Amy, thanks!!

Hope you had a blast at the Heirloom Festival!! I’m sure you are pretty tired. Take care and talk with you tomorrow 😉

    • Thanks Jill! I’m always on the lookout for “manly” stamp sets and this one is just perfect for that. 🙂 We did enjoy the show, but we’re all still recovering today! 🙂

  5. This is such a wonderful and serene scene! Love the tranquil feel! Thanks for playing along with CAS-ual Fridays!
