I used the Petal Potpourri bundle and the Build a Bouquet stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card for the Stamping and Blogging SB92 sketch challenge this week. Be sure to stop by the other Design Team Member’s blogs to see what they’ve created with this sketch too!
My card design was based on the Stamping and Blogging SB92 sketch.
The burlap element for this card was inspired by the Just Us Girls #280 challenge.
I started by adhering a panel of Painted Blooms DSP to a panel of Daffodil Delight card stock with SNAIL, then to a Wild Wasabi card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I pulled the stitching of one edge of a length of the 1-1/4″ Burlap Ribbon and I adhered the burlap to the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive. I added a length of White Jute Ribbon over the burlap, using Fast Fuse Adhesive to adhere it as well.
I stamped the butterflies from the Build a Bouquet photopolymer stamp set in Wild Wasabi ink on a Wild Wasabi card stock panel. Then I stamped the sentiment from that stamp set in VersaMark Ink over the butterfly images, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it. I let the embossing powder cool completely and I colored the word “happy” with my Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blendabilities Marker (Sale-a-bration item also available in the Annual Catalog), then I adhered the stamped panel to a panel of Daffodil Delight card stock with SNAIL and to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the flower image from the Petal Potpourri stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a Whisper White panel and I embossed it with White Stampin’ Embossing Powder. I stamped the flower center with Daffodil Delight ink, then punched the flower out with the matching Flower Medallion Punch.
I cut two leaves with the Bouquet Bigz L Die from Wild Wasabi card stock and I stamped them with the leaf image from the Build a Bouquet stamp set in Wild Wasabi ink. I adhered the leaves to the back of the flower with SNAIL, then adhered the flower to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added three Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front to complete it.
I heat embossed the image from the Petal Potpourri stamp set on a Whisper White panel inside the card, then I stamped the flower center in Daffodil Delight ink and the two Build a Bouquet leaf images in Wild Wasabi ink. I wiped the excess ink from the embossed image with a paper towel before adhering it to the card base with SNAIL.

Awesome card, Amy. Love the tip about coloring the white embossing powder with a blendy! Now I know how to have ANY color embossing that I want. Thanks for that! 🙂
Thanks Mary! The only trick to coloring the embossing is to make sure that you use colored card stock…it’s a little difficult to color really neatly on those skinny letters. If you use colored card stock, you can’t see the boo boo’s. 🙂
lovely, I love all the elements you used on this card, it has such depth, background paper, then texture, then flower overlays, it’s just beautiful Amy
Thanks so much Sandi! 🙂
Oh Amy this is a Happy Day! What a Happy little card! I love it and all the texture. Gorgeous!
Thanks Lee!! 🙂
Pretty card, Amy! I love how you used the burlap and jute ribbons together. Woohoo—bring on the texture!
Thank you Linda! I appreciate your comments. 🙂
I love your Spring colour palette Amy, really makes me think of Spring! x
Thanks Michelle! 🙂
Your jute and burlap look really nice with this rather large flower, Amy! And speaking of large….the bold stripes work well also; nice card~
Thanks so much Roberta! 🙂
Your card is such a happy Spring-y one (haha wish our weather reflected that)! The jute and burlap are AWESOME together Amy 🙂 They go really well with the stripes on the dsp. Nice embossed flower detail inside the card! Thanks for the tip to use darker paper when using the blendabilities to color the embossing powder. Yes, I don’t always color in the lines, lol 😉
Thanks Jill!! I am the absolute worst colorer ever…I can’t keep the marks inside the lines for anything! Dark card stock hides a lot. 😉
Flowers and natural burlap just go together, don’t they? and that grassy green with them makes this a very happy card!
Thanks for joining us this week at Just Us Girls!
Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! 🙂
This is so pretty….and I love the tip about the embossing. The two ribbons go so well together. Love the inside of your creation also. Hugs from Shelagh.
Thanks Shelagh!! 🙂
What an adorable, cheery card! Love the colors, that big flower, and the burlap/jute ribbon embellies you used! Thanks for joining us at Just Us Girls!
Thanks for stopping by to leave me a comment! 🙂
Wowza, love your card, it is so pretty. Great idea putting the burlap and jute ribbons together, looks fantastic.
Thanks Patrice! 🙂
Green and yellow are just not my colors, but somehow looking at your card makes me happy!
It’s fresh and has a springfeeling..that must be it! Lovely!
Thanks so much Caro! Glad that you liked it even if they aren’t your favorite colors. 😉
Wow Amy, I love everything about your card ! The burlap touch is perfect !
Thanks so much Marine!! 🙂
Love your card Amy, the way you have used that ribbon and burlap is so inspirational. The colours of your card are so very soothing too. Great job!
Thanks Claire! 🙂
