The Happy Stampers Team is doing another Stampin’ Up! blog hop today! This time we are featuring a Spring/Easter project and we’re each sharing our favorite stamping storage solution so be sure to hop around the circle to check out the great projects and storage ideas!
I used the Sheltering Tree and Hello Love stamp sets from Stampin’ Up! for my spring project today.
My card design was inspired by Retrosketches #157.
I started by embossing a panel of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder and adhering the embossed panel to a panel of Soft Suede card stock with SNAIL.
I wrapped a strand of Pistachio Pudding Thick Baker’s Twine around the layered panel, tied a little bow, then adhered the panel to a Pistachio Pudding card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the images from the Sheltering Tree photopolymer stamp set in Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral, Soft Suede and Sahara Sand inks on a Whisper White panel. To get a little more of a two-tone effect to the leaves, I inked up the entire image in Crisp Cantaloupe ink, then colored some random leaves my Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Marker before stamping it.
I stamped the circle image (it’s the little sun) and sentiment from the Hello Love (Hostess Exclusive stamp set) in Soft Suede and Crisp Cantaloupe inks on a Whisper White card stock panel, then punched the image with the 1″ Circle Punch. I layered the sentiment over a 1″ Circle Punch from Soft Suede card stock, then adhered the sentiment to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the grass and flower images from the Sheltering Tree stamp set in Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Pistachio Pudding inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.
Alright, on to my favorite storage solution! I’ve posted about this before, you can see the original blog post about my paper storage (along with several other storage ideas) here.
I love my paper storage solution, it’s fairly inexpensive and it’s been working great for me! For my 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper, I store the paper by color family in a magazine holder that is turned on its side. I purchased the Like It Magazine Files from The Container Store and I have one for each of my color families, one for the In Colors and one for specialty paper like Vellum, Naturals card stock, Shimmery White, etc.
To keep my card stock together, I purchased 9″ x 12″ Job Ticket Holders (you can find them at any office supply store, I got mine at Office Depot) and I trimmed the ends with the loop off. I added a label that I printed with a label maker for each color. I love that I can store a full pack of 8-1/2″ x 11″ paper plus scraps in each folder!
I also have some inexpensive storage ideas for punches in a post that I wrote when I initially did a little renovation to my work space. You can see that post here. I hope that you enjoyed a little peek in my crafting space! 🙂

Love your card and storage idea. My favorite retiring In Color is Crisp Cantaloupe will be sorry to see it go. Maybe they will bring it back in a refresh in a few years.
Great card, Amy! I need to play with that stamp some more. I kind of like the Crisp Cantaloupe the best of those In Color colors! 🙂
Darling card. I love how you used the thick bakers twine.
You have an amazing paper storage system.
Thanks for sharing with us!
P.S. I will miss Coastal Cabana the most!
My favorite color that I am going to hate to see go bye is Coastal Cabana. The color coordinates so well with many other colors and can be used for all types of cards and all the seasons.

So pretty – I wonder if you ever run out of ideas for a card. Each one is a special work of art on its own. Thank you for sharing one every day!
Also meant to say that I love Crisp Cantaloupe the most followed closely by Strawberry Slush!
Strawberry slush
Very nice card, Amy. Love that you keep us updated on the shipping status of so many products. Thanks. I think I am going to miss Strawberry Slush when it retires. I do like all the pastel colors of that group. Thanks for the opportunity to win a nice blog candy gift.
I will miss Coastal Cabana…love that color.
Thank you for the chance to win some blog candy, Amy! My favorite of the retiring in colors is Crisp Cantaloupe, with Pistachio Pudding second.
I also store my paper in magazine holders, sorted by color. Easy and inexpensive.
My favorite retiring color is Coastal Cabana, blue’s are my favorite, but I also like the Pistachio Pudding too.
I love, love, LOVE, Strawberry Slush. It’s so bright and vibrant. I’m really going to miss it.
I love your card and the color combination. I’m going to miss Crisp Cantaloupe. That has to be one of my all time favorites. It seems to go well with so many other colors. I’m really hopping stampin’ up adds it to their regular colors in the very near future.
Must be Coastal Cabana because I sure have been using a lot of it! I keep hoping they will make it a permanent color.
Thanks for a chance to win! My favorite color is Coastal Cabana. It reminds me of the ocean in Hawaii. Such a beautiful blue. I hope they keep it.
coastal cabana!
Hard to pick just one! I’d say strawberry slush, but also love baked brown sugar! Thanks for the chance at the candy!!!
Lovely card! I love that stamp set and have yet to ink mine up. Time to change that.
Crisp Cantaloupe is one use a lot–but then I also use Strawberry Slush–But I like the Pistacio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar together—I’m having a hard time choosing. If I had to choose, I guess it’s Crisp Cantaloupe
They all look good together–I guess crisp cantaloupe 🙂
I will miss Pistachio Pudding when it goes away – need to stock up!
Another beautiful card design you came up with – love the happy heart folder with the sheltering tree. My favorite in color is coastal cabana followed closely by crisp cantaloupe (which I didn’t think I liked at all when it first came out – it has really grown on me).
I will miss them all but if I had to pick one it is coastal cabana.
I will miss Pistachio Pudding the most, but all of them are very versatile.
My favorite is Pistachio Pudding. Thanks for the opportunity to win! I loved your card!
Hi Amy! I love all of these in-colors and I’m really gonna miss them when they’re gone. But my all time favorite has to be Coastal Cabana. Love your blog! Thanks!

It’s hard to pick one since I love all these colors. I keep changing my mind. I guess Coastal Cabana but it will change in a few minutes. Love your card today–as always!
Hi Amy,
Thanks for sharing the cute card… “Sheltering tree” looks great in crisp cantaloupe and pistachio pudding. I love the way you decorated the inside of the card, too! More sweetness to add with the hand-written note! My fav retiring color is baked brown sugar, because I love the vintage look, and this color is ideal for adding some time-worn charm. Thanks for a chance to win! Best wishes to all of the participants!
I have to say that Coastal Cabana is my favorite. I will miss it. Thanks for sharing your lovely cards
Coastal Cabana is my favorite of the In Colors, but I do love them all! I think these are my favorite In Colors ever and I am going to have a hard time seeing them go.
I love Crisp Cantaloupe!! Such an elegant color, I think ~ I have used it behind embossed whisper white panels often for anniversary, birthday, valentines …. your cards provide lots of great ideas!
I will all the colors, but my favorite color is Baked Brown Sugar, time to stock up on card stock……BTW, I love your blog.
My favorite color is Strawberry Slush. It is so pretty and reminds me of sherbet.
Another beautiful card, Amy! If everyone begged SU, would they add most of these retiring colors to the mix?!!! 🙂
