Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season for The Happy Stampers Blog Hop

Blog Hop Header

I used the Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season stamp set and a little of the Home for the Holidays DSP to create my card for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop this week.  We’ve got a sketch that Sandi provided to play along with and here is what I created with it:

Reason for the Season - Stamp With Amy K

Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:

And I also have a little bit of exciting news to share with you…I’ve finally set up my very own YouTube channel and posted my first video!  It’s a short one showing you how I created the bow on this card…hope that you don’t notice my hands an voice shaking.  Yikes!!  🙂  Here is the video (if you’re viewing this in your email, you may need to click over to my blog post to see the video link):

I started my card by adhering a panel of Home for Christmas DSP to a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock with SNAIL.

Reason for the Season 2 - Stamp With Amy K

Then I adhered the bow that I’d made with Very Vanilla 1-1/4″ Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon (watch my video here) with SNAIL to the layered panel, then adhered the layered panel to a Real Red card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Reason for the Season 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Reason for the Season photopolymer stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the poinsettia images in Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Delightful Dijon inks, stamped them on scrap paper twice, then stamped them over the sentiment image.

Reason for the Season 1 - Stamp With Amy K

I cut the sentiment out with second largest of the Tags & Labels Framelits Dies and adhered it with SNAIL to a die cut from Mossy Meadow card stock with the largest die from that set.  Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Reason for the Season 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the sentiment from the Versatile Christmas stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, then added the flower images from the Reason for the Season stamp set (stamped off twice as stated above) to finish the inside of the card.

  1. Wow, Amy! What a beautiful card! I thought your video was great, clear and concise. Love the bow and thanks for sharing how to make it.

  2. Perfectly beautiful card, Amy! And I love love love your video and the cool idea for making your beautiful bow! And – you did an AWESOME job with the video – no discernible shaking of anything! Congrats! 🙂

  3. Great video Amy. It is fun to put a voice to your picture I see on your blog. I hope there are more videos to come in the future. Thanks for the daily card inspiration … I love to start my day with your posts!

    • Thanks Julie! 🙂 It’s really hard to hear yourself on video…I think that I sound awful! That’s why I’ve always stuck with typing. 😉 I do plan to do more videos soon…have a few ideas rolling around in my brain that I need to get on tape soon. 🙂

  4. You knocked it out of the park! Keep the videos coming. You are very good. Love the bow and the card. Would this card need to be mailed in a padded envelope?

    • Thanks so much Diane! I’m planning a few more videos as I type. 🙂 Yes, this one would need a padded envelope or it would need to be hand delivered…I’m afraid that the Post Office would tear it to shreds if you mailed it in a regular envelope.

  5. Amy, great job with the video! It was helpful and had clear instructions. I like your card too! You have once again totally enabled me with the Tags and Labels Framelits. I was thinking they would be too small to be of use, but leave it to you to show me it’s perfect for a card front. Keep the videos coming! I enjoyed it. I totally expected you would have a southern accent :).

  6. OK my comment disappeared….Love this card and I said EXACTLY the same thing as Sandi…looks like a present. So gorgeous and was so good to hear your voice!!! The video was fabulous!!! Well done.

  7. Awesome video Amy! And you know I need it with my poor ribbon tying skills 😉
I would love to see more videos from you! You are a natural! I didn’t notice any hand-shaking at all! Beautiful card BTW.
