I used the Stampin’ Up! Reason for the Season stamp set and a little of the Home for the Holidays DSP to create my card for the Happy Stampers Blog Hop this week. We’ve got a sketch that Sandi provided to play along with and here is what I created with it:
Here is the sketch that we’re using this week:
And I also have a little bit of exciting news to share with you…I’ve finally set up my very own YouTube channel and posted my first video! It’s a short one showing you how I created the bow on this card…hope that you don’t notice my hands an voice shaking. Yikes!! 🙂 Here is the video (if you’re viewing this in your email, you may need to click over to my blog post to see the video link):
I started my card by adhering a panel of Home for Christmas DSP to a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock with SNAIL.
Then I adhered the bow that I’d made with Very Vanilla 1-1/4″ Subtle Stripes Satin Ribbon (watch my video here) with SNAIL to the layered panel, then adhered the layered panel to a Real Red card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the Reason for the Season photopolymer stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock. I inked the poinsettia images in Real Red, Mossy Meadow and Delightful Dijon inks, stamped them on scrap paper twice, then stamped them over the sentiment image.
I cut the sentiment out with second largest of the Tags & Labels Framelits Dies and adhered it with SNAIL to a die cut from Mossy Meadow card stock with the largest die from that set. Then I adhered the sentiment to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the Versatile Christmas stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock, then added the flower images from the Reason for the Season stamp set (stamped off twice as stated above) to finish the inside of the card.

Can’t wait for the holidays! Looks like a beautiful present!!! nice 😀
Thanks Sandi! 🙂
Wow, Amy! What a beautiful card! I thought your video was great, clear and concise. Love the bow and thanks for sharing how to make it.
Thanks Kathy! Glad that you found the video helpful and that you didn’t notice my hands shaking a bit! 😉
Perfectly beautiful card, Amy! And I love love love your video and the cool idea for making your beautiful bow! And – you did an AWESOME job with the video – no discernible shaking of anything! Congrats! 🙂
Ha! Thanks Mary! I was pretty nervous…and I don’t have the video edit skills to cut out the boo boos yet. Hopefully I didn’t make too many! 🙂
Great job Amy! I definately will give this a try.
Thanks Sue! 🙂
Great video Amy. It is fun to put a voice to your picture I see on your blog. I hope there are more videos to come in the future. Thanks for the daily card inspiration … I love to start my day with your posts!
Thanks Julie! 🙂 It’s really hard to hear yourself on video…I think that I sound awful! That’s why I’ve always stuck with typing. 😉 I do plan to do more videos soon…have a few ideas rolling around in my brain that I need to get on tape soon. 🙂
Great job on your video Amy! 🙂
Thanks Jodi! I was so nervous…hopefully the videos in the future will be a little smoother. 🙂
You did very well – I can only imagine how nervous you were, but it was so nice to hear your “voice” – and you really did do a great job!
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful card Amy. You inspired me to use more of that DSP. Great video too. You are a pro!
Thanks Kristi! Ha…not so sure about being a pro, but I’m giving it a try! 🙂
You knocked it out of the park! Keep the videos coming. You are very good. Love the bow and the card. Would this card need to be mailed in a padded envelope?
Thanks so much Diane! I’m planning a few more videos as I type. 🙂 Yes, this one would need a padded envelope or it would need to be hand delivered…I’m afraid that the Post Office would tear it to shreds if you mailed it in a regular envelope.
Totally awesome card and your video was super! You sounded very calm as usual when explaining things!
Thanks Jari! Glad that you liked my little video! 🙂
Amy, great job with the video! It was helpful and had clear instructions. I like your card too! You have once again totally enabled me with the Tags and Labels Framelits. I was thinking they would be too small to be of use, but leave it to you to show me it’s perfect for a card front. Keep the videos coming! I enjoyed it. I totally expected you would have a southern accent :).
Thanks Terri! Too funny on the southern accent…guess that I haven’t picked that up yet. Being raised in the midwest…I hear the long “oooo” when I speak. 😉
Love the video….more, please! Your bow-making skill is superb, you make it look easy.
Hee hee! Thanks Barb! I’m working on it. Video making is a bit slow-going for me. I’m still learning and have lots of room for improvement. 😉
I just said exactly what Sandi said….this looks like a present!!!! And it would be to whomever received this fabulous card. Wow. So nice to hear your voice…great video.
Thanks Shelagh! 🙂
OK my comment disappeared….Love this card and I said EXACTLY the same thing as Sandi…looks like a present. So gorgeous and was so good to hear your voice!!! The video was fabulous!!! Well done.
Awesome video Amy! And you know I need it with my poor ribbon tying skills 😉
I would love to see more videos from you! You are a natural! I didn’t notice any hand-shaking at all! Beautiful card BTW.
Thanks so much Nada! Come on over…I’ll help you tie your ribbon any time. 😉
🙂
Fabulous video Amy. Hope you do more! Can’t wait to try that bow technique!
Thanks Denise! 🙂
Awesome first video-just like a pro!! Great card and love your beautiful bow. More videos please!!
Thanks Marilyn! I’m working on getting a few more videos done soon! 🙂
