I used the Stampin’ Up! Jar of Cheer stamp set from the upcoming 2016 Holiday Catalog to create my card for the Fab Friday 94 Color Challenge this week. Using all of these together was definitely a bit of a challenge for me! After several attempts, I finally came up with the idea for a holiday card…how these colors screamed “Christmas” to me, I’m not sure. But I think that it works! 🙂
Here are the colors for Fab Friday 94:
The design for my card was inspired by My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge 294.
I started by applying a very light wash of Dapper Denim ink with an Aqua Painter to a panel of watercolor paper. I let the panel dry completely, then stamped the snowflake image from the Jar of Cheer photopolymer stamp set (available Sept 1) in VersaMark ink several times across it. I sprinkled the panel with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it and then adhered it to a panel of Dapper Denim card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
I adhered a strip of Dapper Denim paper from the 2016-2018 In Color Envelope Paper pack to the watercolor panel with Fast Fuse and then added a strip of Emerald Envy Washi Tape from the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape pack over it. I adhered the layered panel to an Emerald Envy card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the jar and ornament images from the Jar of Cheer stamp set in Basic Black Archival ink on a panel of watercolor paper. I cut the image out with the matching Everyday Jars Framelits Die and watercolored it with Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach, Dapper Denim, Sweet Sugarplum, Emerald Envy and Smoky Slate (for the “empty” spaces in the jar) inks. I also stamped the bow and lid images from the Jar of Cheer stamp set in Emerald Envy and Smoky Slate inks on a panel of watercolor paper and I cut them out with the Everyday Jars Framelits dies. I adhered the jar pieces together and to the card front with Fast Fuse Adhesive.
I colored the sentiment from the Seasonal Bells stamp set (available Sept 1) with Smoky Slate, Emerald Envy and Dapper Denim Stampin’ Write Markers and stamped it on a panel of watercolor paper. I cut the sentiment out with the matching Bunch of Banners Framelits Die and adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the sentiment from the Jar of Cheer stamp set in Emerald Envy ink and the ornament image in Dapper Denim ink (stamped off twice) on a panel of Whisper White card stock inside the card.
