I was so honored when Kylie Bertucci asked me to be a guest for the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop this week! Kylie’s got an awesome team of talented stampers and they’re CASEing my projects today. Yippee!! 🙂
I have been wanting to make a flamingo Christmas card for while so when I was scrolling through my blog, this project caught my eye.
And here is my Pop of Paradise Christmas card:
I started by adhering a panel of the Petals & Pinecones DSP to a panel of Mint Macaron card stock with SNAIL and then to an Emerald Envy card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added another panel of the Petals & Pinecones to the left side of the card with SNAIL.
I used the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies to cut the Mint Macaron card stock panel behind the flamingo. I used one of the square dies and left one end hanging off the end of the cutting pad when I ran it through the machine. I turned the die so that it was positioned opposite the area that I’d just cut and lined it up (it was pretty easy since there are little notches where the “stitches” are embossed) and left what would be the center of the rectangle hanging off the cutting pad as I ran it through again. Once I had the rectangle cut, I stamped the pine image from the Christmas Pines photopolymer stamp set in Mint Macaron ink over the panel. I adhered the panel to the card front with SNAIL.
I stamped the flamingo image from the Pop of Paradise stamp set in Rose Red ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut it out. I stamped the wreath and bow images from the Santa’s Sleigh stamp set in Emerald Envy and Cherry Cobbler inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock, used a Blender Pen to add a bit of color and then cut them out with the matching Santa’s Sleigh Thinlits dies. I adhered the wreath and bow together and then to the back of the flamingo’s neck with Glue Dots and then adhered the flamingo to the card front with more Glue Dots.
I stamped the sentiment from the Shake & Celebrate photopolymer stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and cut it out with the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits die. I snipped the excess from the banner and then adhered the sentiment to the card front with Glue Dots. I cut three pine branches from Emerald Envy card stock with the die from the Pretty Pines Thinlits die, snipped the ends off and adhered them to the card front with Glue Dots. I stamped the holly images with the Holly Berry Happiness photopolymer stamp set in Mint Macaron and Cherry Cobbler inks, punched them out with the Holly Berry Builder Punch and adhered them to the card front with Glue Dots. I added three Cherry Cobbler enamel dots from the Regals Enamel Shapes pack over the holly berries to finish it.
I stamped the sentiment, wreath and bow in Emerald Envy, Mint Macaron and Cherry Cobbler inks on a Whisper White panel inside the card.

What an awesome card. I love that you have used a stamp set that wouldn’t be thought of as Christmas’y and made some Christmas themed out of it. Would be perfect for here in the South Pacific as we have a warmer Christmas.
I think I need to try this technique of extending the stitched dies. It’s fabulous!
Thanks Kayla! It was pretty easy to make the extended shape, give it a try! 🙂
