Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Carousel Birthday stamp set to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today.  We’ve got a color challenge and this is what I created for it.

Here are the colors that we’re using this week:

My card design was inspired by the Fusion Card Challenge sketch.

And the little pearls were inspired by Cupcake Inspirations Challenge 391.

I started by stamping the sentiment from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel from the Cupcakes & Carousels DSP Stack.  I adhered the panel of DSP to a panel of Early Espresso card stock with SNAIL and then to an Early Espresso card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the carousel horse image from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I used the fine point tips on Peekaboo Peach and Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Write Markers to color some of the images on the horse and then I cut it out with a Stitched Shapes Framelits die.  I adhered the die cut circle to a circle cut from Early Espresso card stock with a Layering Circles Framelits Die and then to the card front with SNAIL.

I punched the ends of two strips of Cupcakes & Carousels DSP with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL.  I added a Metal Rimmed Pearl and two Pearl Basic Jewels over the banners and a little Clear Wink of Stella over the post on the carousel horse image to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Balloon Adventures photopolymer stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I inked the carousel horse image from the Carousel Birthday stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink, stamped it on scrap paper and then stamped it three times across the Very Vanilla panel inside the card.

  1. Love it, your combo of designer paper plus the stamped image is absolutely perfect together, I need to order this stamp set, haha.

  2. Wowzers, another 3fer, great creating Amy!! 😉 Love the way the rays of the DSP bring the focus in on the carousel horse. Beautifully highlighted. You made the color challenge look like a breeze, this was perfect!!

  3. I love how you combined all the different elements together Amy, they came together wonderfully. I love that carousel horse, the details in that stamp set are amazing. Can’t wait until mine gets here 🙂 I love the sentiment that you chose for the inside, the font combination is perfect, and it’s so large you don’t have to write very much inside! 🙂

  4. That paper in the bkgrd makes the center circle and carousel stand out! Great use of the colors. A smile maker card!

  5. This is really a stunning card. That image is just beautiful. And what a wonderful use of this week’s theme of pearls. Thank you for joining us at Cupcake Inspiration.
