I used the Stampin’ Up! Coffee Cafe stamp set bundle to create my card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop today. We’ve got a color challenge this week and this is what I created for it.
Here are the colors that we’re using this week:
I started by adhering panels from the Coffee Break DSP to a panel of Soft Sky card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Then I adhered a panel of Soft Suede card stock over the DSP with SNAIL, wrapped a strand of Pool Party Solid Baker’s Twine (I know…wrong color!) around the panel, tied a bow and then adhered the layered panel to a Soft Suede card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the cup and whipped cream images from the Coffee Cafe photopolymer stamp set in Soft Suede ink, the straw in Soft Sky ink and the sentiment in Pear Pizzazz ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I cut them all out with the coordinating Coffee Cups Framelits Dies. I cut and embossed a panel of Soft Sky card stock with the wrap die from the Coffee Cups Framelits Dies and then adhered the straw, whipped cream, cup and wrap die cuts to a panel of Whisper White card stock with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I adhered an oval from the Corrugated Elements pack to the wrap with Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then added the sentiment oval over it with Glue Dots. I carefully inked up the “friend” part of the sentiment from the Coffee Cafe stamp set in Soft Suede ink and stamped it on a strip of Whisper White card stock. I punched the ends of the strip with the Banner Triple Punch an then adhered it with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.
I cut two of the coffee cup images from the Coffee Break DSP with the Coffee Cups Framelits die and adhered them with Glue Dots to the Whisper White card stock panel inside the card.

Stampin’ Up! items used to create this project:
So pretty! I love all the matting and layers – really quite perfect! 🙂
Thanks Mary! 🙂
Amy, I love the colors you chose for the challenge, they really look great together!
Thanks Maggie! 🙂
Really cool card, I love the sketch you used and how it all just blends so well, even the Pool Party twine! It looks great on there. The corrugated elements oval is a nice touch, too. Wish SU would bring back the Kraft Corrugated paper-I have a bunch I saved just in case! 🙂
Thanks Jari! I love those little corrugated elements too! 🙂
Really nice Amy. This is not one of my favorite stamp sets, though I love my coffee! You used it well with the color challenge. Love the DSPs in the background.
Thanks Julie! I’m not a coffee fan, but I love the stamp set. 🙂
You rocked the colors for the sketch Amy! Those colors seem tricky to me and you made them so smooth together. Beautiful layers too 😁
Thanks Jill! 🙂
The colors are what really drew me to this card, Amy. I really like the design as well; perfectly balanced! Now excuse me while I go brew my own latte!
Thanks Linda! Hope that you enjoy your drink! 🙂
