Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight Sunflower Birthday Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Daisy Delight stamp set bundle to create a sort-of sunflower look birthday card for my card share today.

I’m planning to jump on Facebook Live around 10:00 AM ET today (keep your fingers and toes crossed for no crazy Facebook updates today!!) to do a quick video to show you how I created the flower and this card.

My card design was inspired by CAS(E) this Sketch #241.

The fall flower on my card was inspired by The Paper Players #364.

I started by inking the grid image from the Timeless Textures stamp set in Soft Suede ink, stamped it on scrap paper twice and then stamped it a Very Vanilla card stock panel.  I repeated that process a second time across the Very Vanilla panel.  Then I inked up the small ink splatter image from the Timeless Textures in Soft Suede ink and used the same stamping off method to stamp it over the Very Vanilla panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Delivery photopolymer stamp set in “full strength” Soft Suede ink over the grid pattern on the Very Vanilla card stock panel.  I adhered the stamped panel to a Thick Very Vanilla card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I stamped the outline leaf image from the Painted Harvest photopolymer stamp set in Old Olive ink three times on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  I stamped the solid leaf image in Old Olive ink over each outline image and then punched them out with the Leaf Punch.

I stamped the daisy image from the Daisy Delight photopolymer stamp set in Crushed Curry ink three times on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and I used a Blender Pen and a little more Crushed Curry ink to add some color to the petals.  I punched the daisies out with the Daisy Punch and curled the petals slightly with a Bone Folder.  I adhered the daisy punches together in the center with Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then to the card front with a Stampin Dimensional.

I stamped the flower center images from the Daisy Delight stamp set in Soft Suede ink one on top of the other on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock and punched the flower center out with the 1/2″ Circle Punch.  I adhered the flower center with a Stampin’ Dimensional and then tucked the leaf punches under the flower on the card front and adhered them with Glue Dots.  I added a single gold enamel dot from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack to finish the card front.

I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Delivery photopolymer stamp set in Soft Suede ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.  Then I stamped the daisy image three times in Crushed Curry ink and the flower center once in Soft Suede ink next to the sentiment to finish the inside of the card.

You can see a list of supplies used to create this card, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this post.

  1. Gorgeous card Amy! I love the Simplicity of it but it’s just so pretty. Everything about it is perfect. I have the punch but I’m just going to have to buy the stamp set.

  2. Such a pretty card Amy. I love the simplicity and all the white space, and the way you did the sentiment is really fun.

  3. I cannot believe how straight you got that sentiment on the grid!! I’m so impressed! Beautiful card. I love it but sure won’t try to line anything up like that! 😂

    • It’s actually really easy to line it up! I picked a sentiment that is from a photopolymer stamp set so I can see where I’m stamping it. Give it a try! 🙂

  4. Wowser!!
Love it. Can’t wait to watch your you tube. Thank you, again, for sharing the ‘recipe ‘ for your cards.

  5. Gorgeous, Amy. I love that you let the daisy be the highlight of this card. The subtle splatters behind the flower help to ground it and I love the sentiment on the angle.
    hugs
