Stampin’ Up! Nine Lives Friend Like You Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Nine Lives stamp set and Cat Punch to create a fun card to share with you today.  I did a video tutorial for making this card on my Facebook page yesterday.  I’ve also uploaded it to my YouTube Channel so you can view it there too!  I should warn you…I had a few bloopers in the video, so be ready to laugh at my mistakes.  We nearly had a blue cat!  😉

My card design was inspired by CAS This Sketch #315.

I started by adhering a panel of How Sweet It Is DSP to a panel of Melon Mambo card stock with SNAIL.  I adhered a wide band of How Sweet It is DSP to a wide bade of Melon Mambo card stock and then to the larger DSP panel with SNAIL.  I adhered the layered panels to a Coastal Cabana card base with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the circle image from the Swirly Frames photopolymer stamp set in Coastal Cabana ink on a panel of Coastal Cabana card stock and then cut around it with the largest Layering Circles Framelits Die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Nine Lives photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark ink on the die cut circle, sprinkled it with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.  I adhered the circle to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the cat images from the Nine Lives stamp set in Tuxedo Black Memento and Gray Granite inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I punched the cat image out with the Cat Punch and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front.  I punched a heart from Melon Mambo card stock with the Dog Builder Punch and adhered it with a Glue Dot and then added three silver pearls from the Metallic Pearls pack to finish the card front.

I stamped the cat and yarn images from the Nine Lives stamp set in in Tuxedo Black Memento, Gray Granite and Coastal Cabana inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock to finish the inside of the card.

You can see a list of supplies used to create this card, including card stock cuts, at the very bottom of this blog post.

  1. I just love this card. It is so colorful and cheery. Your video was great yesterday even with all things you couldn’t remove cuz it was live…lol. If we can’t laugh at ourselves, then we’re in the wrong business of being human 🙂

  2. Sorry I missed your live video, but will try to watch later today. Really great use of that stamp set. Colors are great too, though I probably wouldn’t have thought to put them together. In other words, I like this card, and would have liked it had the cat been blue.

  3. Can’t wait to watch to see how the cat almost ended up blue! What a fun, colorful card, sure to make someone smile. Love it!

    • Ha! I had a little “incident” late in the video (after I made a mess of the sentiment!!) and he was almost a Coastal Cabana kitty! 😉

  4. Sweet kitty……Emma is dying for a cat but Erin is super allergic! I love that bright background!

  5. Love your cat card, Amy. Great colors. Super cute. Love the video replay. Made me smile. Thank you for sharing.
