I used the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Rose stamp set bundle (available November 1!) to create a Christmas card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop. We’ve got a color challenge this week and here is what I created for it.
Here are the colors that we’re using this week:
I started by embossing a panel of Whisper White card stock with the Pinewood Planks 3D Embossing Folder and the 3D Embossing Folder Plate. I adhered a panel from the Wrapped In Plaid 6″ x 6″ Specialty DSP to the embossed panel with SNAIL and then adhered a length of the Gold 1/4″ Shimmer Ribbon (available Nov 1) over the seam with SNAIL. I adhered the layered panel to the front of a Thick Whisper White card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I stamped the outline image of the rose from the Christmas Rose stamp set (available Nov 1) in Shaded Spruce ink with my Stamparatus on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I stamped the flower, leaves and pinecone images from the Christmas Rose stamp set in Cherry Cobbler (stamped off once for the berries), Shaded Spruce and Soft Suede inks. I did use a Sponge Dauber over the inked stamps to even the ink out before stamping it. I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over the stamped surface several times and then used my Stamparatus to restamp the outline image in VersaMark Ink over the first image. I sprinkled the image with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed it.
I cut the stamped image out with the coordinating Roses Dies (available Nov 1) and then adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from the Free Skate stamp set VersaMark Ink and then heat embossed it with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a panel of Whisper White card stock. I cut the sentiment out with on the the Roses Dies and adhered it with Stampin’ Dimensionals to the card front. I added three of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (available Nov 1) to finish the card front.
I stamped the sentiment from the Christmas Rose stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock and then added a strip of the Wrapped In Plaid DSP to finish the inside of the card.

The shading you created is perfect. I love how you stamped the rose and then restamped so you could emboss. This is a gorgeous card.
