Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick Birthday Card for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop

I used the Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets to create my project for the Happy Inkin’ Thursday Blog Hop.  We’ve got a theme challenge this week and this is what I made for it.

Stampin' Up! Hey Chick Birthday Card

Here is the theme that we’re using this week:

My card design was inspired by the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge this week.

I started by adhering a panel from the In Good Taste DSP to the front of an Early Espresso card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Then I adhered a panel of Pool Party DSP from the Subtles 6″ x 6″ DSP pack (retiring May 3) to a panel of Pool Party card stock and then to the card front with Stampin’ Seal.

I stamped the chicken images from the Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick stamp sets in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then colored them with Light and Dark So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Poppy Parade, Pool Party and Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends and the Ivory Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I cut the images out with one of the Stitched Shapes Dies (unfortunately, they sold out right after I made this card, but the squares measure approximately 1-5/8″ x 1-5/8″) and adhered them to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Hey Chick stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Basic White card stock and then cut it out with one of the openings in the Messages Die.  I adhered the die cut with Stampin’ Seal to the card front and then wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the card front twice and tied a bow.  I added a single silver pearl from the Metallic Pearls pack to finish the card front.
