Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect Starfish Card

I used the Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect stamp set from the upcoming 2016 Occasions Catalog to create my card to share today.  I saw this card on Pinterest and loved the colors, so I thought that I’d recreate it with Stampin’ Up! materials.

Picture Perfect - Stamp With Amy K

My card design was inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #299.

My card design was also loosely inspired by Global Design Project GDP#016.  I used the circular element and the shades of blue on my card.

I started by adhering a panel of Early Espresso card stock to Crumb Cake card base with SNAIL.  I punched the ends of So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie and Pool Party card stock panels with the Banner Triple Punch and adhered them to the card front with SNAIL as well.

Picture Perfect 2 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the woodgrain image from the Timeless Textures stamp set (available Jan 5) several times on a panel of Pool Party card stock in Pool Party ink.  I used a Circles Collection Framelits die to cut a circle from the stamped panel, then I adhered it to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Picture Perfect 3 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the starfish images from the Picture Perfect photopolymer stamp set (available Jan 5) in So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie inks on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  I snipped around the image, sponged over it with a little more So Saffron ink, looped some Linen Thread and adhered it to the back of the image with Glue Dots.  I adhered the stamped image to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment from the Picture Perfect stamp set in Early Espresso ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock, then I stamped the woodgrain image from the Timeless Textures stamp set over it in So Saffron ink.  I punched the end of the strip with the Banner Triple Punch, wrapped a strand of Linen Thread around the opposite end and adhered it with a Glue Dot under the starfish image.

Picture Perfect 4 - Stamp With Amy K

I stamped the starfish images from the Picture Perfect stamp set again in So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie inks on a Whisper White panel.  I added a little Pool Party ink over the starfish with the Timeless Textures image, then adhered it to the inside of the card.

  1. I was disappointed that this was such a large stamp set b/c I love the hummingbird but didn’t like the starfish, didn’t figure I’d use it, but you might’ve changed my mind! Your card shows a good use of the starfish and I like the circle and banners combo. TFS.

  2. Wonderful card! i really love this Starfish Amy. Love the layering that you have done too and the use of the Timeless Textures stamp set. Yes I have written notes for future reference and inspiration. lol. Thank you so much for playing along with this week’s Global Design Project challenge!

  3. Love your design and colors. Didn’t think I wanted the triple banner punch, now I’m rethinking that. The banners really add to the design, and the triple banner punch would make it so easy to create. Thanks for sharing.

  4. You know you have done your job when you can convince people they need something they did not want, such as this stamp set. It is now being penciled on my wishlist Amy! Love the card and select elements you took as inspiration from Bibi’s original design. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us.

  5. Amy – I must sound like a broken record, but every detail on this card is perfect. The texture on the circle beneath the starfish is just wonderful. Great combination of these challenges. Thank you so much for playing along with this Global Design Project CASE the Designer Challenge.
