I used the cool new Beautiful Ride stamp set from Stampin’ Up! to create my card to share today.
My card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches 219. I realized that I reversed the two background panels after I had my card all finished…oops! 🙂
The colors for my card were inspired by Pals Paper Arts PPA283.
And the little puppy in the window was inspired by TGIF Challenge #38.
I started by adhering panels from the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack to a panel of Basic Black card stock with SNAIL, then to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I stamped the images from the Beautiful Ride photopolymer stamp set in VersaMark Ink on a panel of watercolor paper, sprinkled them with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed the images.
I painted the images with my Aqua Painter and Mint Macaron, Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake and Tuxedo Black Memento inks. I let the image dry completely, then adhered it to a panel of Basic Black card stock with Fast Fuse Adhesive and to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I pulled a strand of the Mint Macaron twine from the Baker’s Twine Combo Pack through a Basic Black button from the Neutrals Designer Buttons pack, tied a bow and adhered it to the card front with a Glue Dot.
I adhered a strip from the It’s My Party DSP Stack to a Whisper White panel inside the card.

Brings back memories of my youth… lots of days spent at the Florida beaches with my blue VW bug. Such a cute card – love the dog!
Thanks Melanie! Love that image too. 🙂
Great card! I like your paint job on the car. I have seen this car image a few times. Is there a story behind why the front tire has six spokes and the rear only has five?
Thanks Brent! No idea why the front tire has six spokes and the rear only has five…my guess is that the person who drew the image didn’t even notice! 🙂
True story – I tried to use this car on this sketch and couldn’t make it work…..just looked like the car was running into a wall……but you reversed the panels and made it work perfectly! I love it!
Ha! I love it! I reversed them by accident…glad that mine doesn’t look like it’s smashing into a wall. 😉
Very cute, Amy. That pup looks like he’s ready to ride! 🙂
Thanks Mary! Love that little doggy! 🙂
What a fun whimsical card, Amy! Love that puppy dog! Thanks for including the PPA color sketch in your stamping fun this week…. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by Katy! 🙂
I love this! I have been wanting to use this stamp set ever since I bought it and have not had time-haven’t made a card in a month-ugh! Your card is adorable and well done with the Aqua Painter.
Thanks Jari! Love this stamp set, so glad that I finally had a chance to play with it too! 🙂
What a fun card, Amy! Love how you’ve colored your little bug, and Linda’s right, the panels reversed probably would have looked like a car wreck in the making! Thanks for playing along with my sketch at FMS this week!
Ha! Thanks Cindy. 🙂
What a super fun card Amy! You really nailed all three challenges – how did you do that?! 🙂 Love the dog image, wish it came with a full body and she could ride on the top of the surfboard too, lol!
Thanks Jill! Some days I can pull off three challenges and some days I struggle with just one. Apparently the stars aligned when I was working on this one! 😉
Life is definitely a beautiful ride in a Melon Mambo bug! 🙂 Very Cute card, Amy! …and three challenges in one card! (bowing down) 🙂
Ha! Thanks Sandra, some days things work out perfectly for me and others, not so much. 😉
Beautiful card, Amy! Great way to incorporate all three challenges. You are soooo good. Thank you so much for playing along with my color challenge this week at Pals Paper Arts – I’m so glad you did.
Thanks for stopping by to leave a comment! 🙂
